And the winner is…
The Voice’s season 7 finale aired live on Tuesday, Dec. 16, with two hours of contestant and guest performances to amuse America before the winner was finally announced.
Mark Ronson, Bruno Mars, Jennifer Hudson, Ed Sheeran, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jessie J, Hozier, Meghan Trainor, and Fall Out Boy all took to The Voice stage, but ultimately, we tuned in to see whether one of Adam Levine’s three finalists would snag a win over Blake Shelton’s country singer. (All of Pharrell and Gwen Stefani’s contestants were eliminated in last week’s semi-finals.)
Prior to the results, each of the finalists released their own original song and music video before performing in Monday night’s live finals episode. Each one of the final four made it into iTunes’ Top 10 chart, long after voting stopped on Dec. 16.
Matt McAndrew’s original song “Wasted Love” sat at the top of the chart, with Craig Wayne Boyd’s “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face” at a close second, and Chris Jamison’s “Velvet” coming in third.
After a night of impressive hits and live vocals, it was time to announce the winners. Team Adam’s Damien Lawson came in fourth and Chris Jamison snagged the third place spot.
Finally it came down to Matt McAndrew and Craig Wayne Boyd, and Team Blake's Craig Wayne Boyd scored the season 7 win.
