Tom Cruise Wants to Make David Beckham a Movie Star!

David Beckham certainly has the physique of a superhero!

His pal, Tom Cruise, wants to turn the athlete into a movie star! Cruise, 49, told the U.K.'s Mirror he would "love to do action movies with Beckham."

"He would be great," Cruise gushed of Beckham, 36. "He could kick ass."

But if Beckham wants Cruise to help him find his way onto the silver screen, he's got to do something in return. "David would have to teach me to play soccer first," the Mission Impossible star quipped.

The 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham was an homage to the star, but he didn't appear in the film.
