A promo for the Bachelor-inspired drama series’ new batch of episodes reveals a return to the behind-the-scenes world of ultra-manipulative producers Quinn King (Critics’ Choice Award winner Constance Zimmer) and Rachel Goldberg (Shiri Appleby) as they pitch a new suitor to the network: pro NFL quarterback Darius Beck, played by B.J. Britt (BET’s Being Mary Jane).

In the video, cast members Zimmer and Appleby and series’ co-creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro talk about how casting a black actor as a suitor allows UnREAL to push boundaries and discuss race in a real and honest way.

“We’re not trying to do things just to shock people. We just go really hard and get to places that are uncomfortable for everyone,” says Shapiro.
