The That 70's Show alum, 36, will play a field agent who once went missing after taking on an undercover assignment. He's now back and is described as a loose cannon.

"Wilmer Valderrama will be able to flex his dramatic, physical and comedic talents in this classic NCIS role," executive producer Gary Glasberg said in a statement, via a press release. "Fans are going to see him like they’ve never seen him before. This is going to be fun. We’re thrilled he’s coming aboard."

Valderrama, who recently ended his six-year relationship with Demi Lovato, has been racking up several TV credits as of late. He previously had a recurring role on Grey's Anatomy and has appeared on shows like Minority Report, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series and Raising Hope.

Valderrama's new gig comes at the perfect time. As previously reported, NCIS vet Weatherly exited the CBS series last month after 13 seasons. The actor, 47, played Special Agent Tony DiNozzo.

"He is a valued part of the CBS family, and the immense charm and talent he brings to the screen as 'Very' Special Agent Tony DiNozzo has helped make NCIS what it is today — the No. 1 drama in the world," the network said in a statement in January. "We thank Michael for all of his contributions to this successful franchise and look forward to continuing to develop projects with him as part of our ongoing development deal."

Weatherly opened up about his departure last month. "The character had to leave at some point," he told Entertainment Tonight. "I should've left years ago, but I was having so much fun I overstayed my welcome horribly — like that guest who won't leave and keeps digging into your fridge." He next will star in the TV movie Bull.
