Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly’s whirlwind romance is heating up.
“They are seriously dating and their relationship has moved quickly since they met at Taylor [Swift]’s wedding,” a source exclusively tells Us. “There was an instant spark and they have been keeping in touch, talking and FaceTiming every day for the last month.”
Johnson and MGK, both 36, were present when Swift, also 36, married now-husband Travis Kelce at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in July. As Us previously reported, the Verity star and the Lost Americana musician enjoyed a low-key date earlier this month at Swift’s Manhattan apartment. More recently, Johnson jetted to Italy to watch MGK walk in the Vogue World: Milano runway show on Tuesday, September 22, during Milan Fashion Week.
“Everyone knew this was actually serious when Dakota traveled to support Colson in Milan,” the insider adds, using MGK’s real name, Colson Baker. “Dakota has a thing for musicians and is a hopeless romantic. Colson has this charm about him, which she was drawn to and she is really into him.”
Neither Johnson nor MGK have publicly addressed their budding relationship, with the source adding to Us that the actress was already “completely smitten” by the singer. However, “some of her friends have questioned whether Colson is the right fit for the kind of life she ultimately wants.”
“Dakota really wants to settle down and start a family,” the insider adds, claiming that Johnson has yet to meet MGK’s two daughters. “They are having a lot of fun right now, getting to know each other.”
MGK shares daughter Casie, 17, with ex Emma Cannon and daughter Saga Blade, 17 months, with ex-fiancée Megan Fox. Johnson, for her part, was last romantically linked to Role Model for several months following her eight-year relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, though she admittedly prefers to keep her love life private.
“I am obsessed with people not knowing where I am or what I’m doing,” she stated to Vogue in a September profile. “I’m far too porous and sensitive and present. I don’t — I can’t deal.”
While Johnson declined to speak in depth about her past and present romances, she did note her future hopes of becoming a parent.
“I really do [want to have children]. I didn’t expect to be this age and at this place in my life, but for whatever reason, that’s the plan of the universe,” she told Vogue at the time. “I would love that. I hope that that happens for me. I’ve always felt, especially the last few years, that there is a soul that wants to come through. I hope that I’m lucky enough to be able to do that.”
