Exclusive: Chevy Chase, Beverly D'Angelo to Reprise Vacation Roles

Wednesday – November 18, 2009 – 6:08pm

Hide your breakables and stay off the roads, because Clark and Ellen Griswold are going on vacation again!

See some of Hollywood's longest real-life relationships!

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo -- who played the calamity-magnet parents in National Lampoon's Vacation and three sequels -- will reprise their roles in a new ad campaign to be launched during the Feb. 7 2010 Superbowl.

The advertised service in the homage to the 1983 original (about a madcap American roadtrip)? HomeAway vacation rentals, naturally!

"To this day, people ask me, 'When is the next Vacation movie?" says Chase, currently starring in NBC's Community. "So I'm sure everyone will get a kick out of seeing the Griswolds and their misadventures once again."

Adds D'Angelo: "Clark and Ellen have one of the most enduring marriages ever to come out of Hollywood. I am thrilled that HomeAway is reuniting Chevy and me."

The campaign will also feature an exact replica of the film's iconic "Wagon Queen Family Truckster" -- minus the wear and tear it receives in the course of the classic comedy.

I agree with Annette's comment of November 19, 2009 - They should make another movie, this time with the Griswald's going on vacation with the grandkids entitling it Cruisen Vacation.

You can watch these movies over and over and chuckle every time. I hope they do another one soon. That would be awesome!

This will be so funny! It will feel full circle to see them reprise those funny National Lampoon's Vacation roles. The Christmas movie from 1989 was so laugh out loud funny! Everybody identifies Chevy Chase from those movies! Those hit movies prevented future summer family trips from being boring, that you can pack some energy and humor in them!

Beverly D'Angelo got one of my co-workers fired when she came into the store where I work. I could not believe how snotty she acted. I am not a fan of hers at all.

"Now, I owe it to myself to tell you, Mr. Griswold, that if you are thinking of taking the tribe cross country, this is your automobile. The Wagon Queen Family Truckster. You think you hate it now, but wait till you drive it."

Hey, hey, easy kids. Everybody in the car. Boat leaves in two minutes... or perhaps you don't want to see the second largest ball of twine on the face of the earth, which is only four short hours away?
