Supermodel Elle Macpherson has been known as "The Body" since Time magazine crowned her as such in a 1986 cover story. She even boasts her own skin-care line called "Elle Macpherson The Body" and a fitness video titled "The Body Workout." But she has competition for the moniker, according to the New York Daily News. **Heidi Klum** has been claiming the title for the new Victoria's Secret ad campaign for The Body bra.
"They call me 'The Body' and now I have a bra named after me," the German supermodel says in the commercial.
"We saw that and were like, Oh my god!" says Elle Macpherson Intimates spokeswoman Melissa Edwards. "We were initially flabbergasted."
Edwards added: "We have numerous press clippings in the office referring to her as 'The Body.' Everything from Harper's Bazaar to Vogue to the recent Sports Illustrated calls her that. In terms of public record, that name belongs to Elle."
So who's the real Body? (And let's not even confuse the situation by bringing Jesse "The Body" Ventura into the mix.) In this corner we have Macpherson, a strapping 6-feet-tall, 42 years old, two children. And over here we've got 5-foot-9 Klum, 33 years of age, mother of two (and a half!) children. Frankly, we want to make sex to both of them equally -- and we don't even dig chicks.

this is about who was originally called the body, times called elle the body begining from the 80's
heidi calls herself the body in 2006 (self proclaimed) theres a difference
this is not about whos sweeter or prettier or younger but who was called the body by every magazine in the world
not about heidi being sweet and falsely saying she is the body when noone gave her that title
it's like justin timberlake (who is very talented) calling himself the king of pop that title is michael jacksons,
so there is a difference

heidi klim began her career in the late 90's , when elle was being proclaimed the body by times magazine, vogue, harpers bazaar, and every magazine in between heidi klum was still unknown and trying to break into the modeling scene
obviuosly elle is a bit older
i feel bad for elle because it seems heidi has taken into her power to call hereself the body, when that name has belinged to elle for almost 2 decades

When I heard Heidi proclaiming herself "The Body" in the VS commercials, I remembered thinking she isn't the body....Elle is!! Back in the 90's I remember Elle being called that! They both have great bodies but I am sure Heidi can come up with something more original!!

hayley is correct...those scars of his are not tribal scars, they are from a disease he had as a child...i don't know what he's like, but from some of the comments i've heard from her, all i can say is MEEEEEEEOWWWWWW! big time meow!!!! and she really isn't all that...someone else said it before I did, she's got huge hips on top of an oddly shaped body...if we have to choose between these two, then it's definitely Elle, but even elle is too thin in my opinion. but i'm just wondering why they think a nickname like "the body" is an honor. that's about the stupidest thing I've heard in a long time. the body hahaha, ok!
