When OC star, Rachel Bilson sat down to talk about her new movie, The Last Kiss with the October issue of Teen Vogue, she uttered the word “weird” 17 times. She used it to describe the circumstances surrounding her first conversation with Scrubs star, Zach Braff, whom she acts opposite in the the film. (He called her out of the blue to ask her to be in a music video he was directing, then she got the Kiss script. ) Here are some highlights from the hour-long interview that didn't include the “w” word.
On The O.C.:
“I just feel like the show is over. I’m so happy for everything it brought me, and it’s been such a great experience, but I think we’re all ready to move on.”
On being famous:
“There’s this unspoken thing: ‘I know your face and your name because you’re in magazines or whatever, so I’m going to say hi.’ It’s so funny. This thing with celebrities. I mean, I don’t like to say I’m a celebrity. We don’t need to go there.”
On not being a tabloid cover girl:
“I’m blessed. I don’t have to deal with [unwanted media attention] as much as a lot of other people.”
On her new film The Last Kiss:
“I wanted to a part of something good for my first movie. I get offers for teen, O.C., typecasting kind of roles, but I decided to steer away from that. I wanted to show that I could do other things.
On making movies:
“Ideally, I just want to make movies. It’s just what I’ve always wanted to do, and nothing would make me happier than having that chance. I love doing comedy , but I’d do drama, period pieces, anything. There’s so much out that and it will be fun to be able to explore that.”

Only a couple weeks ago I started watching the OC on-line on Myspace FOX. I agree with some of the people on here that some of the scripts are a little stretched and clumsy.
BUT, this show has the sweetest people in it ever. Ok maybe it this is kind of cheesy but I got really attached to it, and I got to the last episode and I was like OMG, it is ending, and I just got really started.
In the last three seasons I think that I have cried more than I have ever cried about a TV show.
I think that if they got some fresh ideas and tried a little harder they could make it really POP.
But I really understand that the actors are ready to be out.
I only hope that Ben Mackenzie doesn’t just disappear.

I was really mad when i heard the O.C. ended. I LOVE IT! :] and also that Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody broke up. i know it was kinda a long time ago, but they're like the perfect couple. Espcially on the O.C. :D oh, and that magazine cover says "and cast of high school musical"!! I used to hate that movie but now i like it. I tried out for sharpay and gabriella. Anyway, I'd love to see this new movie Rachel Bilson is in, and i can't wait for it to come out. And my friend thinks that the O.C. is coming back. but i don't. :[ I'll miss the O.C.!!!! I love it.

i am going to miss the show its pretty much the only show i dont forget to watch.. season 4 was kind of downhill in the beginning but it was getting better just wish it would continue. hopefully they will come up with something else i can tune into at 9 on thursday..

Rachel is just fantastic. Both she and Adam are my favourite actors of the tv show... I am going to miss them... Nothing will be the same any more...

I was so disappointed to see Marissa go, & yet I have managed to cry my way through the 1st several episodes this year without her. But to think they would let it go completely.. Come on what are these writers thinking?? I am not sure they are thinking. If there is a problem with the ratings, then hello isn't the answer simple... move it back to Wednesday night so it doesn't have to compete with Grey's Anatomy, (I still choose OC over Grey's anyday)but there are other choices than ending a show that was ranked #1 its 1st 2 seasons!!! Give it a chance. I have never missed a single episode & when it 1st aired I had just found out I was pregnant & when it came back on in the fall I had found out I was having a boy & The O.C. helped us decide on our 2nd son's name "Ryan" He died on July 2, 2004 during surgery that was supposed to save him. I don't know why I'm sharing this with all of you, but I just have a bond to the character Ryan & everytime I hear the show's theme song I think of the days when my Ryan's heart was still beating. I strongly believed this show would continue on for a good 8-10 years, not a mere 4.

So after them having this show on t.v for years they just want to cancelle it will thats such a stupid idea that they ever came up with like seriously they finally put a good show out there that people can watch and enjoy that they are just going to take it away...Alot of people are going to be really mad and pissed..Like really what are they thinking or can they think real..They put the best show ever out and there cancelleing it will that should ruin it for their fans way to go is all i can really say...Cant believe it the best show ever and they have put it out amazing and just like that its gone...Anyways Do wat they want cus their only actors and actresses doesent make them any better then us so wat there famous ha like that matters it dont make them any better of a person then us let them go ahead and have there fame good for them but to ruin a show like this when they got people attach to it aint gonna make them anymore famous maybe less thats for sure...No wonder mischa barton quit the show she is smart but she was also the best i can give her credit.

OMG!! THEY CANNOT CANCEL THE O.C AFTER THIS SEASON. I LOVE THE O.C AND THEY JUST NEED BETTER DRAMA. i live off of drama shows and if the drama keeps on coming and it is good then there is no reason to turn it off... the o.c is a popular show and maybe after the fifth season it can turn off. as long as they replace it wit hsomething similar

urgg! I love the OC. I own every season and I have grown to the characters! I have always been undecided on my favorite character but I realized that Marissa is. When I found out she died, I didnt know how the show would mantain it's normal storyline. I have watched every episode so far, and I will continue but I wish that Marissa was in a coma so at least there was a chance she would come back. I want the OC to continue though..

Just a response to Rachels comment about the OC coming to an end...
It is a shame that The OC hasnt stood up to its ultimate goodness which was displayed in the first season. Season one had some of the absolute best scripts and ever since that season finished, it appeared to me as if the producers of the show had run out of ideas. Season 2 did turned out to be a massive let down, rather depressing at stages, whereas season one, despite having upsetting moments, it wasnt frustrating to watch. As bad as this may sound i am very glad that Marissa was killed off at the end of season 3 as in my opinion she was bringing the show down. Just a note to the producers of the show, what the hell was with the whole Jonny plot. So damn boring and the show was so gritty for several weeks. However i did find the last few episodes of season 3 better, mainly because of the fun focus between Seth and Summer. Season 4 looks good from the promos but i hope im not gonna be disappointed YET AGAIN! And hey wouldnt it be great if the old characters were brought back for old times sake!

The O.C. is a really good Show, one of my favorites. I can see where people feel that Marissa's drama was becoming repetive and boring, but i have to say that i loved season 1, i loved the last half of season 2, and i loved the first half of season 3, and it was because ryan and marissa were together, and seth and summer. I think seth and summer are adorable, but i have always been a ryan and Marissa Fan. People who hate her charachter are gay, and i hope all the fans excited for this new season realize there is no show without her. I was in love with the O.C., but right when i saw that season 3 finale i was bummed, so everybody shoudl start watching One Tree Hill, its really good and there story lines dont suck. I still love the O.C. and i own the first two seasons, but i can hardly watch it and appreciate them anymore knowing season 4 is gonna be about katlin cooper whos stupid and nobody is interested in, and taylor townsend. Ha the directors of the O.C. i dont know what you were thinking, its too bad because even though the show is going to suck i would have maybe tuned in to see what was going to happen, but thats a waste of time compared to Greys anatomy who actually keeps there good charachters on, i just started watching that show and im already more interested than i would be for the new O.C. ! Ha and by the way.... way to ruin the O.C., you had something good, but you ruined it...

The O.C is so overrated now. In Australia i love the O.C but th eonly reason i watch it is to see th eexceptional talent of Rach an dAdam. Misha Barton could not act to save her life. RACH IS THE BEST ACTRESS ON THE SHOW. I agree that the O.C was great in the first season but it has gone down the toilet. A more suitable title would be for the o.c Tall Poppy O.c after th esaying tall poppy syndrome

i love watchin the o.c. but now that they got rid of misha its gunna be differnt becuz she played such a big part in the show soo i guess its good that they end it before it ends up getting cancelled...and with thme bringing in 2 new families then that will be weird becuz its been the same since the beginning...and if their all going 2 differnt colleges then that might not work 2 well...ohwell ill have 2 wait and see

ANYONE WITH HALF A BRAIN KNOWS THAT THE SHOW WAS STELLAR THAT FIRST YEAR, BUT EVER SINCE SETH SAILED AWAY ON THAT STUPID LITTLE BOAT IN THE SEASON ONE FINALE, IT'S BEEN NOTHING SHORT OF AWFUL... I am a big closet fan of the O.C. but even I have to admit they keep repeating the same story lines over & over. It has become so predictable & as for Marissa 'dying' scene it was so disappointing. She looked fantastic a little scar above her eye & then she dies. It was so Hollywood!!

I think the OC should've been over after the 1st (maybe 2nd) season. It was always the same thing....Ryan and Marissa fight...Ryan and Marissa make up...over and over. Now that she's gone, they have no show.

I love the OC but with one of the main characters gone I don't know how things will be...so I guess I will have to see. OH and them going off to college I am not sure how that will work. I look forward to watching the show...I know I will miss it because I have watched since the beginning. I would be glad it would last longer if AND ONLY IF they could give us the same quality as it is now and I don't know about bringing in new actors to start new story lines. I don't know if I would like it as well but I won't know until I see.
