why does it matter if he cheated or not? "if he cheated, no money...if he didnt, then ok." either way, both already have wayyy too much money...its ridiculous how much money they have. you guys say reese worked hard for it...how is acting any harder than teaching? than being a doctor? or something else that requires sooo much more hard work and less money? ugh..it disgusts me. anyways, it was wrong of him to cheat, if he did. but you got to remember that he did seem to take care of the kids most of the time. its not like he choose to not do movies.

Wow.. no one looks to the future.. SHE goes to work and makes ALL the money and HE stays home with the kids.. this was the scenario for YEARS!! I don't think she was an idiot. She was young and in love but so was he. He messed up and if he was a real man he would leave with what is his and not her's. He would still live a very comfortable life. After all he could have bowed out of the marriage if he was not happy all along. Now there are children involved and they need to be taken care of. More than likely she will get custody and he will get visitation whenever he wants. So, I believe that he should let her keep her money. Most of it will probably be spent to give his children a wonderful life. Good luck to both of them! I've always thought they were a classy couple...too bad.

Fidelity in a marriage is a moral obligation and should be expected. If Mr.Phillippe chose not to honor his commitment to his wife and kids he will have to deal with the consequences of his behavior. However, moral obligation and the law in this case are two different issues. If they did not have a prenuptial agreement then he would be entitled to half of all earnings during the marriage, as she would be if the roles were reversed, regardless of the reason for the divorce. The focus in this case needs to be on the children and how this divorce will affect their life.

If he did cheat he deserves nothing - at the end of the day he should just swallow the manly pride and except that he messed up (that's if he did and until proof that he cheated does arise, i personally believe that they just fell apart) after all 2.5 million a movie is still and incredible wage! However I do believe that if he didn't cheat he does deserve some financial credit. I agree that her success was in part to do with his support.

ya know, so what if they have to divide half of everything. Reese will simply make another movie and *wham*, she's back to where she was after the divorce, almost anyway. But, after a few movies in the bag, she will be fine. And don't think for one minute that Ryan is the only unfaithful party. Reese and Joaquin Phoenix were extremely lovey-dovey during and after the filming of "Walk The Line". During her appearance on The Tonight Show, he just "happened" to show up and sign the Harley Davidson as she was doing so...but, you know how Hollywood is, they were just "friends".

If you think for a half a second Ryan was turning down good roles to stay at home with the kids....your are crazy....maybe he wasn't hitting the social circle as one who is single with no kids might...but neither was Reese and she got the offers and he wasn't. He looks like a baby. In the next 10 years he will start hitting his top speed and Reese as she ages will not. If he cheated on Reese he deserves nothing. Reese is young, her career is flying but when she hits her late 30's the roles will dry up. Ryann is young with a baby face when he hits 40 he will still look young and roles will be coming in. It is a toss up someone work the other doesn't. I think you will see a quite divorce Reese has class and she will not trash the father of her children no matter what he did to her if anything. It is sad this happen to them but I do not see Ryan being jealouse of Reese's career. He looked happy when Reese won a Oscar. I believe youth and too much time apart is the cause of the break up.

Somebody stated that he was always home with the kids. True because he was not getting alot of roles like she was.That is what a parent do just because he is a man does not mean he should not be home with the kids. When he is filming movies she is at home. If he did not cheat then he deserves his share but if she ends up with the kids then I feel it should not be half. If he cheated then HELL NO.
