Nicole Richie is cleaning out her closet. Us has learned that, on November 14, the Simple Life star axed her personal stylist (and close confidante) of more than two years, Rachel Zoe. The reason? The size-0 Richie, 25, “wanted to surround herself with positive people and influences,” an insider says.
Apparently that didn’t include the controversial fashionista, 35, who has long been accused of promoting unhealthy body images (her roster of stick-thin clients includes Mischa Barton and Lindsay Lohan, both 20).
“Nicole didn’t trust Rachel anymore,” a Richie pal says of the firing. “Zoe didn’t take the news well.”
Zoe’s rep denies this, adding that the split was amicable.
In her place, Richie has hired Cristina Ehrlich – who has dressed Jessica Biel and Penelope Cruz – to pick an outfit for the November 21 American Music Awards, where the actress has been asked to introduce a performance by dad Lionel Richie.

Well, I think for her sake yea, she needed to fire her, But at the same time I think R/Z helped a lot of ppl get to their idea weight. Now I don't approve getting stick thin. But if you were a size 8 and needed to get to a 5 quick fast in a hurry, I think she is a great person to call. obviously her diet secretes work! But I don't like she took advantage of them and tried to get them to be a 0. a 0 looks great and healthy on some ppl. ( like my 15yr old neice) but sick on others. it depends on the body type. you can't just go around telling everyone to be a 0. But I think she still has good in her.

I hope Rachel Zoe never works again! I mean the woman is completely responsible for making half of hollywood look like starving, trashcan diving hobos who were suffering from over exposure to the sun. On the other hand, she worked for idiotic girls who are only too eager to please and took advantage of them, which I completely admire. Who says you can't make money preying on the insecurity of others? However, if you're going to do that could you please not do it at the cost of fashion?
-Oh and Richie does look much better. That dress is even almost flattering. Almost.

I think Nicole is a complete air-head and should stick to more healthy diets, who is she really going size 0 for? herself? or others...? I think if you want to lose excessive amounts of weight it should be for you not because your in competition with other Barbie doll "friends"

I believe Rachel could be jealous as she looks rather skinny herself... but really, why does everyone make such a big deal about Nicoles life anyone. It's not that important, it's not as though she has much of a purpose.

If you are trying to quit drugs and are surrounded by druggies then you need to find new friends and new people to be around. Good for you nicole and Good luck in your recovery. I have always liked you. As for her stupid ass "stylist" (Druggie role model) quit sending the wrong message to young girls. Give them a chance, let them be who they really are. I defintely think that Rachel Zoe was a major influence on Nicole's dramatic weight loss. Yes she injected some style into Nicole's life but fashion does have a lot to do with how you view yourself.
Nicole is great and I'm sure she'll be fine without rachel zoe, and yes, isn't it a coincidence that all of Rachel Zoe's clients are all stick-thin/anorexic/drug abusers?

second, rachel zoe lies about her age, she is NOT 35 OR ANYWHERE NEAR IT. shes 44-45 and was born in 1962. if shes so honest (no eating disorder my ass- theres a difference between naturally slim people and ones with eating issues) then why care if people know her real age? p.s.- her lines on her face give it away - i mean COME ON PEOPLE do you really believe shes in her 30s?
anyways, having stylists is understandable if you need a certain look, but its really NOT that hard for a person to dress themselves, i know tons of non-celebrity people that dress very well and do it on their own! what a concept!

first off, i do know of who i speak. this girl hired this stylist. she is a grown-up and has gone through her pbulic drug problems. you can not blame a stylist for someone's unhealthy thinness as that is really unfortunate. she didn't tie her up and inject her with substances unwillingly if at all. rachel was key in creating a new image for nicole, and it had a significant impact on her public persona. that is never being credited in all the shit-talking about this issue. also, when one fires one's stylist/hair/makeup it is very rude and immature to issue "derrogatory statements" to the press in any fashion. when people hire and let go of employees they don't (unless they lack class and any sense of the reprocussions) make a deal about it, blaming them for their own personal problems. she clearly has a long way to go if she wishes to cement a lasting career in entertainment outside of tabloid fame, and these actions make other top stylists and artists afraid to ever work with someone so spiteful and malicious. its clever that she dumps her stylist, gains several pounds, and then, the entire "medical impossiblity" of her gaining weight gains a scapegoat.

The sad thing is -- Rachel Zoe really is 35. I went to high school with her (where she actually used her real last name) in NJ. She certainly doesn't look like that in her 1989 high school yearbook picture.

Why can't celebrities dress themselves? I understand having a professional makeup artist, and hair stylist, but, why can't you pick out your own outfit?
What's wrong with wearing what you like and not caring if others find it attractive or not? Most celebrity stylists are clueless anyhow.
