They eloped looking dope! Teyana Taylor has already proven to be one of the coolest girls in the game, with her smokin’ hot choreography (and body!) in Kanye West’s “Fade” video as well as a gaggle of appearances in the front row of many New York Fashion Week shows. Now, the “Maybe” singer is giving Us yet another reason to love her.
In September, Taylor revealed that she married her longtime love, Iman Shumpert, in a super-secret wedding. “I have a beautiful baby, a wonderful husband,” she said, confirming the rumor on The Wendy Williams Show. Now, Taylor’s slowly but surely sharing intimate details from the nuptials. Taylor, Shumpert and their 10-month-old daughter, Junie, all wore customized personal leather jackets instead of traditional threads.
“Love is an emblem of eternity; it confounds all notion of time, it effaces all memory of a beginning, and all fear on an end….. ❤️,” Taylor captioned a November 2 Instagram photo shot by Fred Daniels III that showcased the backs of their toppers. Taylor’s? “I Do.” Shumpert’s read “I Do Too.” And Junie was even in agreement, with an “Oh!…Me Too” number to complement her pink tutu dress.
And on October 27, she posted another snapshot from the big day, showing the front of their outfits. The happy family wore jeans, matching t-shirts and bandanas (Taylor, of course, wore hers around her neck) to tie the knot. “Grab ya biker baby let's do it rite HERE rite NOW! …….It's nothing like marrying ya best friend. 😍 I love you baby…. A moment I will never forget,” the bride posted.
It was just another moment in the couple’s unconventional love story, which began in 2014. According to a December 17, 2015, Instagram post from Taylor, Shumpert delivered their daughter the day prior, who came out “as a wonderful surprise to everyone.”
“Not knowing I was in labor until I felt her head … it took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing Dr and she entered this world into his bare hands!” Taylor recapped. “Eyes full of tears and barely able to speak to the emergency operator @imanshumpert tied a pair of red headphones around the umbilical cord and the ambulance made there grand entrance 5 min later. She opened her eyes right away, gazed into mine and never cried! He handed her to me wrapped in our bath towel and wiped her face for me to see what LOVE really is. She has blown Christmas away! Our family is complete. Her blueprint will be unmatched. Welcome Iman Tayla Shumpert Jr. Mommy carried you. Daddy delivered you.”
