Nicholas Hautman

Born and raised on Long Island, Nicholas Hautman joined the Us Weekly digital team in 2015 as an Editorial Intern and has since climbed the ranks to his current title of Associate Editor. He is a pop culture junkie by day and night (fueled by iced coffee) whose simple pleasures include aimlessly driving around in his Jeep, indulging in street tacos with guacamole, flipping through a good music biography and relaxing with a glass or two of rosé with ice.

Nick has been a diehard Britney Spears fan since day one. His never-ceasing interest in her life and work was one of the driving forces behind his decision to pursue a career in entertainment journalism. Since the ‘90s, Nick has collected every major magazine that Britney has covered and dissected each of her albums with a fine-tooth comb. He dreams of one day having the opportunity to interview her.

Work or writing background leading to expertise

With more than 6,500 published articles under his belt, Nick is Us Weekly’s resident music expert, fervently tackling album reviews and year-end lists for the magazine and website. He has attended and covered exclusive events such as Justin Timberlake’s Man of the Woods album release party and an intimate Lady Gaga concert at a dive bar in her stomping ground. In addition to Britney and Gaga, Nick’s favorite artists include Rihanna, Beyoncé, Harry Styles, John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac and the Jackson family. He also enjoys covering reality TV, from the Kardashians to Big Brother, and recently became an avid Bravo viewer after tirelessly binge-watching Vanderpump Rules and The Real Housewives.

Nick received a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, in May 2016, graduating with a major in journalism and a minor in psychology.
