Candace Owens is a conservative political commentator, author and media personality known for her outspoken political commentary, podcasting and work with conservative organizations including Turning Point USA and The Daily Wire. Owens spent her childhood in Stamford, Connecticut, where she was raised primarily by her grandparents following her parents’ divorce.

After graduating from Stamford High School, she attended the University of Rhode Island, where she briefly studied journalism before leaving college. Early in her career, she interned at Vogue and later worked in administration for a private equity firm in New York City.

Owens rose to prominence in 2017 after posting conservative commentary videos on YouTube under the name Red Pill Black. Her social media presence and support of President Donald Trump quickly gained attention, leading to her role as communications director for Turning Point USA. She later cofounded the BLEXIT Foundation, aimed at encouraging Black Americans to leave the Democratic Party. She later expanded her profile through speaking engagements, books, including Blackout (2020), and her political talk show, Candace.

Over the years, her high profile has led to appearances on numerous podcasts, including “The Tucker Carlson Show” and “The Charlie Kirk Show.”
