Dave Portnoy

Dave Portnoy is an entrepreneur and founded Barstools Sports in 2003. The sports and pop culture website expanded to include podcasts, videos and merchandise, alongside his popular One Bite pizza reviews. A University of Michigan graduate, Portnoy studied education after switching from business.

In 2016, Portnoy sold a majority stake in Barstool to the Chernin Group while retaining editorial control. In 2020, PENN Entertainment acquired a 36% stake, later purchasing the rest in 2023 for $551 million. However, Portnoy reacquired Barstool for $1 when PENN shifted its focus to a partnership with ESPN.

Portnoy married Renee Portnoy in 2009, but they separated in 2017. He then had a three-year relationship with Silvana Mojica from 2020 to November 2023. In April 2024, he was seen with Camryn D’Aloia at a Celtics game, sparking romance rumors, though he later clarified it was a casual date.
