Jett Travolta
Jett Travolta was the eldest son of John Travolta and Kelly Preston, whose life and death drew widespread public attention because of his parents’ high-profile Hollywood careers. Jett was born in Daytona Beach, Florida, and raised largely away from the spotlight alongside his younger sister, Ella Bleu Travolta, and his younger brother, Benjamin.
As the child of two well-known actors, Jett occasionally appeared with his family at public events but otherwise remained out of the public eye. His health became the subject of media attention over the years. His parents later confirmed that he had autism, and he also experienced seizures after previously being diagnosed with Kawasaki disease, a rare childhood illness that causes blood vessel inflammation.
On January 2, 2009, Jett died from a seizure while his family was vacationing in the Bahamas. His death made international headlines and, in the years since, his father has regularly honored his late son with tributes on social media.
Jett is survived by his father, John, his sister, Ella Bleu, and his younger brother, Benjamin. His mother, Preston, died in 2020 after a battle with breast cancer.
