It was an innocent mistake! When an Indiana dad was left to get his 7-month-old daughter, Olivia, ready in the morning, he chose an adorable pair of blue and pink overalls. But there was one major problem: He forgot a shirt.
“My darling husband Jeremy got the baby dressed and took her to daycare this morning,” Brooke Hawley-Basso wrote on the Ellen DeGeneres Facebook page. “This is how things went down when I picked her up!#daddyfail.” Along with photographic evidence of the wardrobe malfunction, Brooke shared the hilarious text exchange that ensued.
“Did you send Olivia to daycare without a shirt on?” Brooke asked, to which Jeremy responded, “Uh I sent her with that thing on.”
“Overalls,” she typed, before explaining, “supposed to wear a shirt under overalls.”
His perfect reply: “I gotta plead ignorance here.”

Brooke tells Us Weekly that Jeremy is usually in charge of getting their son, Brady, 6, dressed while she prepares Olivia. “Jeremy doesn’t like to dress Olivia because he feels like he’s dressing a doll,” says Brooke. But on that particular morning Brooke had a job interview and Jeremy had no choice.
“When I walked into the daycare and I saw Olivia sitting there on the floor in just overalls, I asked the daycare provider, ‘Did she come in like that or did she make a mess on her shirt?’” Brooke tells Us. “She laughed and said, ‘Dad sent her here just like this!’”
“There was another mom standing there and she said, ‘I saw Olivia like that this morning and I thought it was funny.’”
Jeremy has a good sense of humor about the whole thing. According to Brooke, he posted the image to Facebook with the caption: “Well, I guess I’ll never be dressing the baby again!”
