When Ali Fedotowsky found out she was pregnant again, she quickly devised a plan on how to break the news to her husband, Kevin Manno.
“The day I found out I was shooting photos [for my blog] with my friend who’s a photographer,” the Bachelorette alum, 33, exclusively tells Us Weekly. “I basically took a test in the bathroom and went out to start my makeup and realized I forgot about the test, like, 20 minutes later. Went back in and saw the results, and I was like, ‘Oh, my God! Oh, my God! Oh, my God!’”
After celebrating in the bathroom, Fedotowsky composed herself and ordered a book from Amazon Prime Now so that it would be delivered to her house within two hours. She didn’t want to tell her friends about the news before Manno, 34, so she stayed quiet and continued preparing for her photo shoot.

“When Kevin got home from work later that day and I was finishing up my shoot with Ashley, I said, ‘Oh, I wanna get one last photo of us packing a suitcase because I wanna do a blog about traveling with an infant,’” the mother of 16-month-old daughter Molly tells Us. “About halfway through shooting that scene … I went and got the book that said ‘You’re Gonna Be a Big Sister!’ and I gave it to Kevin while my photographer was shooting.”
Suffice it to say, the radio host was overjoyed. “At that time and that moment it was the furthest thing from my mind,” he tells Us. “I was not at all expecting anything like that, so it was a true shock.”
Prior to the news, Fedotowsky and Manno had to pause on trying for baby No. 2 because she underwent a hip procedure. A couple months later, she used a Clearblue ovulation kit and got pregnant on “the very first try,” she reveals.
The Home and Family star has already had a few pregnancy symptoms, including acne and nausea. “Pregnancy was not easy for me with Molly and so far it has not been easy for this one either,” she tells Us. “But I am starting to feel better, which is great.”
Because Molly is so young, she doesn’t fully understand that she’s going to become a big sister. “We just taught her the word ‘baby,’ and I’ll point to my belly and I’ll say, ‘What’s in here?’ And she’ll go, ‘Baby, baby!’” Fedotowsky gushes. “So, like, she has no idea what it means. Baby could mean burrito for all she knows.”
As they prepare for their new arrival, who is due in May 2018, the reality star and her hubby are looking forward to having children 23 months apart in age. “I just feel so fortunate and so lucky that this is our life right now,” he tells Us. “We’re gonna be married with two kids and a house, and it just all seems very, very perfect.”
