Seeing pink! Amber Stevens West and her husband, Andrew J. West, celebrated their future daughter with a lavish baby shower hosted by their friends.
The couple, who met in 2008 while filming ABC Family’s Greek, hosted the occasion at Cleo Restaurant in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 26, with family and friends who enjoyed Champagne POMMERY’s limited edition “It’s a Girl” POP! mini champagne. As for celebrity attendees, Stevens’ Happy Together costars Damon Wayans Jr. and Felix Mallard joined in on the fun.
Stevens, 31, exclusively dished on the occasion to Us Weekly and revealed why West, 34, will make the perfect father. “He’s very attentive and loving and patient and cuddly,” she raved. “He loves to kiss and hug. He’s already obsessed with this baby and every single day he’s, like, ‘I can’t wait for her to get here. Where’s this baby? I need her to come now.’ He’s so excited. Honestly, he’s going to be a much better parent than I am. I’m thankful that I have him.”
As far as push presents go, Stevens noted that the greatest gift will be having the Once Upon a Time alum by her side in the delivery room. “I’ve totally joked with him that he needs to buy me diamonds, but I don’t need anything,” she said. “No, I don’t need anything. He’s just gonna be there along for the ride with this labor. I just want him next to be and there as soon as she’s born.”
The pair also started the pregnancy journey side-by-side, as West was present when Stevens found out she was expecting. “I didn’t want to take a test without him being there,” she explained. “We were really happy. We were excited. I started laughing and he was very, like, ‘Yeah, this makes sense.’ Like, ‘This is great. This is what we want.’ He felt very peaceful with this.”
So far, Steven’s experience carrying her daughter-to-be has been smooth sailing. “Honestly, I’ve felt pretty normal this whole time and I’m really surprised,” she told Us. “I had been warned by so many moms that being pregnant in the summertime is really difficult, just because you get hot and sweaty and winded. But I haven’t had any of those issues. I’ve felt really myself.”
Stevens and West tied the knot in December 2014 and will welcome their daughter in September.
