Bristol Palin Opens Up About Custody Battle: ‘Every Child Deserves Two Loving Parents’

Two is better than one. Bristol Palin opened up about her legal issues on Thursday, February 25, after Levi Johnston won joint custody of their son, Tripp, this week.

Former Dancing With the Stars contestant Palin, 25, took to Instagram to share a sweet photo of herself at home with her 7-year-old son and 2-month-old daughter, Sailor (whose dad is Dakota Meyer).

"These babies are my world and I will always be doing what is best for them," Sarah Palin's daughter wrote. "Every child deserves two loving parents, so I will continue to encourage that no matter what. I have never, and will never, keep them from having a positive relationship with their fathers. I did not 'lose' any custody case – my son has always spent most of his time with me and he will continue to do so, he is happy, healthy, and knows both of his parents love him.."

She concluded her message with a nod to Matthew 5:11 from the Bible, which reads: "Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account."

This past Tuesday, 25-year-old Johnston — who also shares daughters Breeze, 3, and Indy, 13 months, with wife Sunny Oglesby — revealed that his seven-year custody battle with his ex had been settled. "I'm so happy to have my son in my life, and to put all of this back in forth in the courts behind me," he wrote in a now-deleted post on Facebook. "It might have taken me 7 years and cost me around $100,000 in lawyer fees, spread out among 3 different lawyers, as well as a lot of patience, but it was all worth it."
