Honkin’ awesome! Vanessa Minnillo-Lachey and Nick Lachey celebrated their son Camden‘s 2nd birthday this past weekend with a construction-themed bash. Proud and pregnant mama Lachey, 33, posted several pictures from inside the well-planned party via Instagram on Wednesday, Sept. 17.
“Cam’s construction themed birthday party this past weekend was soooo FUN!” Minnillo wrote, alongside a close-up look of the invitation. “I loved working with @riverandbridge on the paper goods. I wanted some color instead of the typical black, yellow orange and brown. So here’s what we came up with. I LOVE the pop of color!”
Minnillo also showed off her toddler’s birthday cake, a three-tier confection decorated with trucks, tractors, tools, and hazard signs. “Cam’s birthday cake was PERFECT!” she gushed. “I sent @cakesbyrumy tons of pics and she brought them to life! He loves tires so we decided on a huge wheel base!”
Her final update from the bash was a sweet family snapshot, taken by photographer Rhonda Dent, featuring the birthday boy hoisted up on his dad’s shoulders. For the themed event, Vanessa and her son both wore red T-shirts, custom-designed for his birthday party. The pregnant-again star paired the shirt with denim overalls and a matching bandana, while her husband sported a white tank.
“Thank You @rhondadentphotography for capturing all the moments of Cam’s 2nd Birthday!” Minnillo wrote. “I’m so grateful you were there. I was so busy I didn’t take one photo! #CamdensConstructionCrew.”
This will be a big year for Camden, as he becomes a big brother to a baby sister. Minnillo announced the news of her pregnancy in July, and has been eagerly anticipating the arrival of her little girl. Both mom and dad, however, were focused on their one and only Camden on his actual birthday, Friday, Sept. 12.
