Cameran Eubanks has a message for first-time moms — and it’s both terrifying and comforting.
“Labor is the most painful things you will ever experience, 100 percent,” the Southern Charm star, 34, told Us Weekly. “I was so afraid I was going to be this anxious, nervous, crazy mess. But when you go into labor, it’s like something biological happens, where you are focused. It is game time, tunnel vision. That’s how I became. I don’t even know if I talked to my husband. It was just, ‘Get this baby out of me quick.’”
Eubanks and Jason Wimberly, welcomed their daughter Palmer on November 11, 2017. Now six months into the whole motherhood thing, the Real World: San Diego alum knows a few things for sure, especially when it comes to getting a baby to sleep.
“I always have a sound machine on in her room,” Eubanks, who recently partnered with Dermira, told Us. Though the real estate broker swears by the Baby Shusher, she’s also a fan of just cranking up a box fan to the loudest setting.
Meanwhile, when it comes to packing a diaper bag — Eubanks says to keep it simple. Her trusty Louis Vuitton Nevefull satchel contains just the essentials including diapers, wipes, a change of clothes and rash cream. “I will throw my wallet and my keys in there,” says Eubanks. “So I don’t need to carry an extra bag.”
Eubanks admits she’s still figuring out what kind of mother she is going to be. But she’s striving to be a calm one. “My mom, she’s given me some great advice,” she told Us. “She said, ‘Now Cam, when you were a little baby, you rolled off the bed and you hit the floor pretty hard. I want you to know babies are very resilient, and if you drop Palmer or she rolls off something, she’s probably going to be OK. So don’t worry about it.”
