Fashion It Girl Chiara Ferragni is six months pregnant. But her stomach suggests she just ate a big lunch.
In an Instagram posted Tuesday, November 28, the Blonde Salad blogger, who was in Manhattan on business, posed in black bra with her bump on full display. She captioned the selfie: “Third time Leo is in New York.”
The picture received more than 6,000 comments — and many of them were about the size of her tummy. “Wait. Pregnant or food baby?” wrote one of Ferragni’s 11 million followers. Added another: “Incredible how small your bump is!! Where is this baby?” A third person quipped that the baby “looks cramped in there.”
Of course Ferragni isn’t the first public figure to be shamed for her baby bump. Lingerie model Sarah Stage made headlines this year for having six-pack abs well into her third trimester. (She welcomed a healthy 7 pound, 2 ounce baby boy on October 16.) And Duchess Kate, who is expecting her third child, was criticized after photos of her were posted to Kensington Palace’s official Instagram account last month. Sample comment: “I can’t believe she’s prego, she looks too thin.”
Ferragni, a former law student, is expecting her first child with her rapper fiance Fedez. He proposed on her 30th birthday during one of his concerts in Italy. Four months later, she nabbed the No. 1 spot on Forbes’ Top Influencers List in the fashion category.
Ferragni and Fedez, who are both from Italy, but live in L.A., began dating in October 2016.
