Christina Aguilera is sharing a rare glimpse into her family’s summer adventures.
“Summerween ☀️⛵️✈️🐱🎃💀🧛🏻♂️🕷️🕸️,” Aguilera, 45, wrote via Instagram on Saturday, August 29, alongside a carousel of fun-filled photos. One snap featured the “Genie in a Bottle” singer’s daughter, Summer, 12, sitting on the hood of a car with her legs wrapped around her mom’s waist as the pair held hands. Summer rested her head on Aguilera’s and flashed a huge smile.
Aguilera shares Summer with fiancé Matthew Rutler. She is also a mom to son Max, 18, with ex-husband Jordan Bratman.
Other photos and videos in the carousel featured Aguilera spending time on a boat and wearing a shirt that read, “Is it Halloween yet?”
Aguilera also shares photos of her pets wearing Halloween costumes, as well as some Halloween decorations.
In one snap, Aguilera and Rutler, 41, posed on the stairs of a plane as the latter planted a kiss on the former’s cheek.
Aguilera and Rutler have been together since 2010 and got engaged four years later, although they have not been in a rush to tie the knot.
“There are no wedding plans at the moment. [Christina] and Matt are happy the way they are,” a source exclusively told Us in August 2022. “They’re one of those couples who don’t need a document to prove their love for each other.”
Aguilera and Rutler welcomed Summer in August 2014, six months after they announced their engagement. Ten years later, the “What a Girl Wants” singer shared what their daughter thought about her life as a pop star.
“She’s so enraptured by the world behind the scenes and the production of everything, and she loves the band and the background singers,” Aguilera told Vogue in January 2024. “She wants to take drum lessons — she is about it. She gives me so much love and support. Before I go on stage, she knows I get nervous, and she’s like, ‘You’re going to do great, mama.’”
She continued, “On the way to school the other day with her dad, [Summer] said, ‘When I grow up, I want to either be mama’s photographer or mama’s manager.’ It’s so funny,” Aguilera added at the time. “So we told will.i.am that [when he came to see my Las Vegas show], and he was like, ‘Oh, my God, she’s your daught-ager.’ So daught-ager is the word of the year. It’s just so cute.”
Summer has even grown accustomed to keeping her mom on track in her busy life.
“If I’m running late for something or have an appointment, she’s like, ‘You know they’re waiting, Mama. We need to go,’” Aguilera explained. “I was [previously] working with someone who predicted her birth to me, a very intuitive person, and she said, ‘You’re going to have a daughter, and she’s going to be your protector. She’s going to be on this earth to watch over you and protect and support you.’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, really?’ And literally she’s embodying that, and it’s just the most beautiful [thing].”
