Always in her heart. Alexandra Reeve Givens, the daughter of the late Christopher Reeve and his ex-love Gae Exton, honored her dad in the sweetest way — by naming her firstborn son after him.
The new mom, 31, and her husband Garren Givens welcomed a baby boy on June 13 in Washington, D.C., a rep for the family confirms to Us Weekly. They named him Christopher Russel Reeve Givens, after his grandfathers on both sides.
According to her LinkedIn profile, Alexandra serves as senior counsel for the Senate Judiciary Committee, and as an adjunct professor at Columbia Law School. Her husband, meanwhile, is director of the Presidential Innovation Fellows program.
Alexandra was Reeve and Exton’s second child; they also had a son, Matthew, born in 1979. The Superman actor later went on to marry Dana Morosini, with whom he had a third child, son William, 23.
Will was recently recruited to be a member of ESPN’s SportsCenter team, which is something of a dream job for him. “My dad and I had a huge bond and shared a love of sports,” he told The Wrap in January of his late father, who died in 2004 at age 52, nine years after he was paralyzed in a horse-riding accident.
