BFFs Ciara and Kim Kardashian have seen each other through many friendship milestones over the years, and now Kardashian is guiding her pal through another big moment: The birth of her first child—a baby boy with her rapper fiance Future. "We [go] over really personal stuff from the woman's side of things. We've had great conversations and it's been really cool," Ciara told Us Weekly of how Kardashian—who became a first-time mom herself in June 2013 when she gave birth to daughter North with fiance Kanye West—has helped her navigate impending motherhood.
What else do the girls gab about? Baby gear, of course! "I'm obsessed with the Orbit stroller [Kim has] and she showed me how it works—the simplest things are so fun to you as a mom," the "Get Up" singer shared.
Engaged since October 2013 when Future proposed with a 15-carat diamond ring on her birthday, Ciara confirmed her pregnancy three months later by sporting a sizable bump during an appearance on The View. The singer was feted by Kardashian and other pals including LaLa Anthony at a March baby shower that revealed she and her fiance would soon welcome a baby boy into their family.
Though their baby's gender is now out in the open, Ciara has chosen to keep her son's name a secret until his arrival. As she tells Us, her baby's first name was an easy decision, but the middle name threw her for a loop. "I went with what felt right in my soul and my gut. I didn't second guess it," the mom-to-be—who may very well have her first child in her arms on Mother's Day—said.
"I didn't even know what to expect, but it's been a very easy process. And it's been so much fun," Ciara continued of pregnancy and parenthood prep. "Honestly, it's been the coolest experience in my life. Being able to know that I can do that is such a blessing. I'm literally obsessed with kids, so I'm excited about being able to have my own to obsess over."
After her son is born and she settles into motherhood, Ciara will have another life experience to share with Kardashian: Wedding planning! "I'm more about prepping for the baby and his room and everything, so I have my mind running on the wedding, but I'm looking forward to when I don't have this big bump so I can start trying on dresses," Ciara told Us.
