Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider’s newborn granddaughter made a rock-star entrance into the world.
“We just had the baby in the car on the 405!” the musician’s eldest son, Jesse Snider, announced in an Instagram video posted Sunday, August 7. “No joke. Easiest birth we’ve had. We were a little surprised by it all. We waited a little too long to leave, I think. But the baby’s healthy, and already breast-feeding, and we love her.”
In the clip, the L.A.-based dad pans the camera to his wife of nine years, Patty, who is seen cradling their daughter Parker Pryde in the passenger seat of their Toyota Rav 4.
The video has been viewed more than 2 million times and has more than 15,752 shares on Facebook.
Jesse tells Us Weekly they were 25 minutes away from Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center — and he was driving “like Batman” when Patty’s water broke. “She’s got her hands between her legs and I’m like, What is she doing? Checking herself?” says the 33-year-old singer-songwriter and voice-over actor. “Then I saw the baby’s entire head with the shoulders right behind it.” Moments later, little Parker made her debut. Raves Jesse: “Patty just pushed with all her might and pulled the baby out in one little move, like it was nothing.”
“My wife felt personally responsible for waiting until the last minute to [go to the hospital],” Jesse tells Us. “She just said to herself, ‘This is happening, so I’m going to do this. I’m going to figure out how to do this.’”
He continues: “It was so serene and nice when it was just the three of us.” But when the couple — who are also the parents of Logan, 7, Cassidy, 4, and Grayson, 2 — finally arrived at UCLA, Jesse says things got “kind of annoying.”
“There was all this commotion … they had, like, three dozen people — doctors and all these students who were in the room just ogling Patty and Parker, going, ‘That’s a pretty good-looking wife and baby considering they just gave birth in a car,'” Jesse tells Us.
They weren’t alone in the observation. “Congratulations but the Mrs. looks as if she just come from the beauty parlor,” wrote one person on Facebook, while another commented: “Mom looks so refreshed …”
“A couple of people have tried to say online that it was fake,” Jesse says. “But she’s clearly, visibly covered in afterbirth.”
Meanwhile, Jesse is focusing on his family. “The two oldest kids are completely enamored with Parker,” he tells Us. “Grayson, is a little closer in age to her and he’s more like, ‘Yeah, yeah it’s a baby.’ But occasionally he'll come over and give her a little kiss to show he's interested!"
