Baby makes four! Erika Christensen has welcomed her second child, another daughter, as delivered by her husband, Cole Maness.
The Ten Days in the Valley star shared the news on Instagram on Friday, August 10, with a sweet photo of herself, Maness and their newborn. “It happened! It happened this morning,” she wrote. “And it will go down in history because babygirl’s own incredible dad delivered her all by himself. My fault entirely as I didn’t know she would come so quickly and didn’t call the doc until far too late.”
She continued on to share the incredible experience, adding, “He came straight over and arrived about one minute after she joined us in the world. Haha! My mom too. You should’ve seen their faces when they walked in to hear her little wail. Mom immediately took this picture. So epic. 9:21a (we think) at 7lbs 8oz (we think). Doc didn’t have time to grab the baby scale in his rush.”
Christensen also shared her new daughter’s name: “Meet Ms. Polly. She’s chubby-cheeked and rosy and so beautiful.”
The Parenthood alum, 35, announced her second pregnancy via Instagram in May with two photos of herself showing off her baby bump in a strapless red dress. “ALL ABOUT THE ANGLE. #swipe #secrets,” she captioned the post. She also shared a picture on her Instagram Story of her 2-year-old daughter, Shane, rocking sunglasses and an adorable T-shirt that read, “big sister.”
The following month, Christensen accidentally revealed that she was expecting another girl. “Hopefully, the little one will learn a lot from her sister,” she told Us Weekly on June 12, notably referring to her second bundle of joy as “her” for the first time. “My mom got [Shane] a T-shirt that says ‘big sister.’ So she seems to grasp that there’s a baby in there, and she’s going to be a big sister. And she’s given the belly some kisses and stuff.”
The Wicked City alum also told Us that she was “very nauseous” in her first trimester. “I feel like the body was equalizing all the hormones and everything, and I’m kind of over that hump,” she said at the time. “I also haven’t challenged myself particularly. Last time, I did a lot of big adventurous hikes and things, and I think I ought to get back into that. I think I was a little fitter the last time.”
Christensen and Maness tied the knot at a ranch in California in September 2015.
