With just months until her due date, Eva Longoria is feeling great, thank you very much. But her first few weeks of pregnancy were brutal. “I was so nauseous and tired,” the 42-year-old exclusively tells Us Weekly. When the Overboard actress learned of the “beautiful surprise” growing in her belly, she was was directing episodes of Fox’s comedy The Mick.
“I thought they’re going to think I’m a terrible director because I’m just sleeping all the time!” she jokes to Us. “Every chance I got I took a nap!”
As previously reported, Longoria is expecting a baby boy with her husband of nearly a year Jose “Pepe” Baston. The TV executive is already the father of daughter Natalia and twins Mariana and Jose with his ex-wife Natalia Esperon.
Thankfully, Longoria’s energy returned in time for her jam-packed third trimester. Overboard, her remake with Anna Faris, hits theater on April 13. Grand Hotel, the pilot she produced was recently picked up by ABC, and she’s designing an eponymous HSN line that drops March 22. It’s a collection she’s especially proud of: “I love speaking to the clothes. I love telling people, ‘You know, this dress will make you look thinner. The will give an illusion of a waist.” (As for her own style these days, the mom-to-be raves “I’m into stretchy clothes!”)
With all those projects in the works it’s no wonder Longoria hasn’t had a chance to think about a nursery — or a name for that matter! As Longoria tells Us: “Once I finish this pilot, I’ll be able to focus on getting ready for my little boy.”
Us confirmed on December 19 that Longoria and Baston are expecting their first child together.
