Gisele Bundchen Talks Raising Chickens, Making Fruit Leather With Son Benjamin

Gisele Bundchen
Gisele talked about being a mom.

Where does she find the time? Supermodel Gisele Bundchen's not just a pretty face – she's also a mom on a healthy-eating mission.

Apparently, when the 33-year-old beauty isn't walking catwalks, she's usually found scooping chicken poop or making fruit leather in her home dehydrator.

The Brazilian model recently told Food & Wine magazine that thanks to her brood of chickens, her home is a zero-waste household.

"I have a beautiful garden in L.A. where I raise chickens," she revealed. "We have very little waste because the chickens eat all of the vegetable scraps, and anything they won't eat, I put in my compost pile with the chicken poo."

Bundchen, who is married to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, also spoke about the healthy food and drink she enjoys making from scratch for their children Benjamin, 4, and Vivian, 17 months, plus Brady's six-year-old son Jack with his ex-partner Bridget Moynahan.

"Benjamin and I make his school snack together — fruit leather in our dehydrator," she explained. "You can use any fruit, but I always use banana as the base because it has great texture and sweetness. My son is so proud; he goes to school and tells all his friends he made his own snack."

The former Victoria's Secret angel then hinted at a slightly less virtuous side by admitting the healthy lemonade she makes could be transformed into a cocktail when the kids had gone to bed.

"I make an aloe-lemon drink that's pretty healthy," she declared. "But you could add tequila!"
