Candace Cameron Bure is thrilled to be entering her grandmother era.
“Over the moon,” the Full House alum, 50, said of her daughter Natasha Bure’s pregnancy during a Tuesday, May 12, Q&A session on her Instagram Stories. “I’ve been waiting for this day to come. I always wanted to be a grandparent in my 40s — but on my 50th year is perfect!!”
Natasha, 27, and husband Bradley Steven Perry announced on Thursday, May 7, that they’re expecting their first baby.
“Our dream role 🐣,” the couple captioned a joint Instagram post.
Candace commented on the announcement, “CandyGram in full effect 🤗❤️.”
The Hallmark actress has known for quite some time that she wanted her future grandkids to call her “Candy Gram.” She exclusively revealed the nickname to Us Weekly back in November 2024 while discussing son Lev’s family plans with wife Elliot Dunham. (Candace shares Lev, 26, son Maksim, 24, and Natasha with husband Valeri Bure.)
“I can’t wait until I have [grandkids], but I’m definitely not pushing them,” Cameron told Us, adding of her eldest son and his wife, “They’ve been married less than a year. Whatever their timing is, [it’s] great with us.”
The mom of three continued, “I’m defending my grandma name. Nobody likes it except me, and I wanted to be Candy Gram. I just thought that was cute. My son doesn’t think so. I think he’s like, ‘You’re just sticking with Grandma Candace.’ I’m like, ‘OK.’ Maybe Grammy. Something like that, I don’t know.”
Candace added that she hopes she’s a “fun grandma” when the time comes.
It seems Natasha is on board with her mom’s “grandma name,” as she called Candace the “best Candygram ever” in an Instagram comment following her pregnancy reveal.
Natasha also used the moniker in a Mother’s Day tribute to Candace shared via her Instagram Story on Sunday, May 10.
“Happy momma’s day. I love you so much!” she wrote over a throwback snap of Candace and a toddler-aged Natasha. In another slide, Natasha shared a photo of Candace kissing her baby bump and added, “Already the best Candygram to little baby P!! We love you so much.”
Natasha tied the knot with Perry, 27, in September 2025. The actor celebrated his wife’s first Mother’s Day via Instagram on Sunday.
“Baby is so loved already,” he captioned photos of Natasha cradling her baby bump during a trip to Paris. “Happy Mother’s Day to the soon-to-be best mom ever. I love you so much.”
