In the City star Danielle Olivera offered a major update on her and boyfriend Eoin Heavey’s baby boy.
“Baby and parents are doing well,” she captioned an Instagram Stories post on Thursday, June 25. “Overwhelmed by the love and support, thank you all so much!!”
Danielle, 37, added, “I’m still getting through so many of your heartfelt messages and NICU journeys — it means more than you’ll ever know that you’re sharing those with me.”
She told fans that there’s a “long road ahead” for their baby boy but they’re “ready and thankful” for help. Danielle also offered a shoutout to
Stony Brook Medicine for keeping their son “in the best hands.”
Eion, 39, took to Instagram on Sunday, June 21, and announced that Danielle had given birth to son Aidan Santos 10 weeks early.
“Longest day of the year both solstice wise and for mum and dad,” he shared in an Instagram post. “He’s heading to summer camp at NICU for his first 2/3 months in this world but mum and dad can’t wait to bring him home hopefully soon.”
Eion explained that Aidan’s name means “fiery one” and “bringer of fire,” which he used to describe Danielle through the entire process.
“She was nothing short of amazing after getting contractions at 10pm on Friday going to emergency room at 3am in Southampton then getting transferred by ambulance to Stony brook for a further 24 hours,” he wrote, thanking the nurses and doctors at the hospital. “We are mesmerized by the miracles they perform on a daily basis.”
Eion’s message concluded, “Dad was a nervous, terrified, sobbing mess but couldn’t ask for a better first Father’s Day.”
Danielle shared his post on her own social media on Sunday with a message of her own.
“Here early but safe and we couldn’t be happier,” she wrote.
The couple shared in a joint Instagram post last month that Danielle was pregnant with their first child.
“Baby Heavey on the way,” they wrote, showing off Danielle’s baby bump.
Danielle started dating Eion last year after they met nearly 10 years ago. (Eion was previously married, which has become a story line on the first season of In the City.)
“We both moved to New York around the same time, kind of after college, and we would have overlapped a little bit in regard to friend groups or parties back then,” Eion told Bravo in April, explaining that nothing romantic between them happened at the time. “We did meet back then.”
