Jamie Lynn Spears has so much to be grateful for this holiday season, which is why she’s counting her blessings on Instagram with the hashtag #12DaysofJLS.
Ten months ago, on February 6, Spears’ daughter Maddie, whom she shares with ex Casey Aldridge, was riding in an ATV in Kentwood, Louisiana, when it flipped over into a pond. The little girl, now 9, was submerged under water for several minutes and unconscious until first responders were able to free her from the vehicle’s seatbelt and safety netting. She was hospitalized for five days and has since made a full recovery.
Maddie’s aunt Britney Spears expressed her gratitude the day Maddie was discharged. “So grateful that Maddie was able to go home today . . . it’s truly a miracle,” Britney wrote on Instagram. “Our prayers were heard, and they were answered! Thank you so much for all your love and support this week. My family appreciates it more than you will ever know.”
Jamie 26, shared a Monday, December 18, picture of Maddie with John and Victoria, the first responders who saved her life. “The hardest milestone me and my family have ever faced was almost losing our beautiful Maddie, but thanks to God and the two angels in this picture we were able to celebrate Maddie turning 9 years old together,” she wrote. “This milestone became a true miracle, and we are forever grateful for that. #12DaysofJLS.”
This isn’t the first time the former Zoey 101 has paid tribute to John and Victoria. “My baby is 9 years old today, and more than ever we realize how precious every day is,” Jamie Instagrammed in June. “So, we have to thank these 2 HEROS. John and Victoria are the first responders, who literally saved Maddie’s life, and they were able to celebrate . . . another year of her life with us this past weekend!”
