Jana Kramer had mixed feelings about making her miscarriage public late last year. “At first I posted and deleted,” the country singer tells Us Weekly exclusively. But as the 34-year-old sat there crying alongside husband Mike Caussin, she had a sudden epiphany. In sharing her pain, maybe she could help other women going through the same thing.

Kramer opened up about her loss in an emotional Instagram post published on December 9. In the picture, the mom of 2-year-old daughter Jolie, clutched an ultrasound photo of the baby she and the former NFL player, 31, had lost.
“My body just went through so many hormonal changes and I was like, ‘There are so many women that feel this way way right now and they feel alone too,’” Kramer told Us.
The One Tree Hill alum was 10 weeks along when she learned of the miscarriage. Kramer says it was not her first or last loss. (According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, roughly 15 to 20 percent of all pregnancies in the U.S. end in miscarriage, which is defined as the loss of a fetus before the 20th week.)
“It’s frustrating, but what I’ve realized is, it’s truly a miracle to have a baby and it’s all in God’s timing and hands,” she revealed. “If it’s meant to be, it will be.”
Right now, Kramer is just enjoying being with Jolie. The two will head to Nashville from Los Angeles for Mother’s Day. “I miss Nashville,” she told Us. “So I’m gonna go home and be with my girls and we’re gonna do a spa day and take Jolie to this really pretty park and have a picnic. I’m excited.”
The star’s new podcast, Whine Down With Jana Kramer, premiered on iHeartRadio on Monday, May 7.
