Jana Kramer and Mike Caussin separated in August 2016 when their daughter, Jolie, was 7-months-old. While reflecting on the split, the country singer revealed to Us Weekly how Caussin’s infidelity affected her as a mother.
“I feel like I didn’t get to enjoy the first year of Jolie,” Kramer, 34, told Us. “So it’s nice that we get a redo as a family.”
The One Tree Hill alum and Caussin, 31, who reconciled in September 2017, will welcome their second child together — a boy — in November. “I’ll want to really cherish those moments of holding him,” she gushed to Us, “And enjoy every step of the way.”
Kramer and the former NFL tight-end actively worked on their three-year marriage in couples counseling, and are looking ahead to when their son arrives. “Mike’s already said, ‘When the baby comes, I want to make sure we still have time for us,’” the musician explained. “We have two trips planned for next year that’s just him and I.”
While the star suffered from all-day nausea during her first trimester, her athlete love was happy to clean, cook and devote his entire day to Jolie. “Thankfully, my husband, he’s in a much better place and he was really, really, really present and there for me,” the Whine Down With Jana Kramer host gushed to Us. “I legit laid in bed for a couple of weeks straight because I was so miserable and so sick and he just took the house by the reigns. It was awesome.”
Us Weekly exclusively broke the news on Monday, July 23, that Kramer is having a baby boy.
