Jared Padalecki and wife Genevieve Cortese will welcome a baby boy this March, the Supernatural star announced on Tonic.com.
"I originally had the intuition that it would be a girl — shows what I know!" the 29-year-old actor says. "As cheesy as it sounds, I really want, and wanted, nothing more than a healthy baby."
Before their son's March arrival, Padalecki and Cortese, 30, are doing everything they can to prepare themselves for parenthood.
"With Gen being an English major, and me being the son of an English major, and both of us loving to read, we have taken to reading all of the books that we can," Padalecki explains.
On their current reading list? Baby name books. "We've thrown around countless names, probably every one in the books and a few that we kind of made up," Padalecki says. "But we both agree that we'd like to meet our child before we decide [on] a name."
After announcing their baby news in mid-October, the couple requested that any presents be passed along to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
"There are several charities that we support, and this one seemed like a great choice," Padalecki says. "As soon-to-be parents, it's only natural to empathize with other new parents: and though we're not technically parents yet, there's already nothing more frightening than the thought of something happening to your child that you won't be able to help."
