Jennifer Lopez is reflecting on her 18-year-old twins’ journey to graduation.

“I’m so proud that they set goals for themselves. They all got into all five colleges that they applied to. Each one got a scholarship to a school,” Lopez, 56, said during an interview with Extra published on Tuesday, June 2. “And I just felt like they worked so hard. I watched how hard they worked — from the time that they were like, you know, when school gets serious in the fifth grade — they just worked hard, worked hard.”

Lopez explained that twins Emme and Max, whom she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, have ADHD so they “learn differently and there were struggles at times.”

“I’m just so proud of them because they did what they said they were going to do. They are good people. They are loving, good hearted people,” she continued. “And they always said that. I would say to them, ‘What do I say?’ They say, ‘Doesn’t matter if we get good grades so long as we are good people.’ I was like, ‘That is right.’ And they still sometimes will quote that back to me. So I’m very, very proud of both of them.”

Last month, Lopez shared her thoughts on the twins graduating and noted that the pair go to different high schools and will also be attending two different colleges.

“Tomorrow, one of them graduates. Don’t talk about it ‘cause we start crying. I’ve been crying for two months,” she said during a May episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

She continued, “It’s fine. I want them to be happy, go where they want to go, and do what they want to do.”

Lopez, who shared that she will “absolutely” be helping her twins move into their new digs at their respective colleges, shared that she thinks they might not want to be on campus for too long.

“We’re going to pack up their rooms here, and they’re going to take all of the things that they want to take to their dorm. And then they’re gonna realize that their dorms are too small and they’re gonna miss home, I hope, and want to come back real soon,” she admitted. “That’s my plan.”

“I remember being that age and thinking I couldn’t wait to get out in the world and do my thing. I really wanted to get out,” she continued. “All year, people have been asking me, ‘Oh, they’re going away to college, is it going to be terrible?’ No, it’s going to be great. I want them to go out there. I want them to do what they want to do. They have big dreams. They have things they want to do. It’s going to be great.”
