13 weeks and counting! Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard posted the same picture via Instagram Wednesday, Sept. 17, of the 19 Kids and Counting star's baby bump at 13 weeks and 1 day.
"In our second trimester now!" Duggar, 23, wrote alongside a photo of her itty baby bump protruding beneath her teal top and flowy skirt. "'Baby Dilly' is now the size of a fuzzy sweet Georgia peach!"
Her loving husband, 25, shared the same snapshot on his account with a similar message: "Officially in our second trimester! Our baby is now the size of a fuzzy sweet Georgia peach! #babydilly #secondtrimester #jillmdillard #derickdillard."
The couple confirmed that they were expecting their first child to Us Weekly on Aug. 20, just 60 days after their wedding. "We really didn't know how long we'd be able to keep it a secret with all of our friends," Duggar told Us in an interview. "We wanted to tell them."
Fans, however, were surprised that they revealed their baby news so early; most miscarriages happen within the first trimester of pregnancy.
Despite the statistical concern, the devout Christians simply wanted to share their news with the world. "Believing that life begins at conception and that every life is precious no matter how young, we would — even if there were to be a miscarriage — we would still want that child to be recognized," Duggar told Us. "So it was something that we thought about and went forward with."
These days, the TLC stars have been busy preparing for first-time parenthood as they continue to enjoy their marriage. This past weekend, the Dillards created multiple baby registries, requesting items like a bedding set, pacifiers and bibs, and a portable video surveillance system.
"He is amazing…" Duggar told Us of her doting husband. "Married life is the best!"
