So sweet. Joey Feek may be terminally ill, but that won’t stop her from making dinner for her family. The country singer’s husband, Rory, shared a photo on Instagram that shows her preparing a meal from her bed on Sunday, February 21.
Feek, 40, is shown propped up against a bunch of pillows with a Vitamix in front of her, as she scoops chopped up herbs from the blender into a nearby bowl. She has a variety of cooking utensils and ingredients on the table in front of her, including a cutting board, a knife, half of an apple, breadcrumbs, an egg, salt and pepper shakers and broccoli.
“When a mother can’t get to the kitchen to help make her family dinner… you bring the kitchen to mama,” Rory captioned the photo.
The couple had a “week to remember” as they celebrated Valentine’s Day and their daughter Indiana’s second birthday.
“There have been big parties for little people and small losses with great lessons,” Rory, 49, wrote on his blog on Friday, February 19. “We even had a romantic night filled with more love for each other than we even thought possible. But mostly, this has been a week filled with thankfulness.”
Joey was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2014 and opted to enter hospice care last November.
