Josh Duhamel and his wife Fergie are ready to expand their family!
Us Weekly spoke with Duhamel, 39, on Tuesday about his involvement with PetSmart Charities and spreading their message to "adopt if you're a capable pet owner." The actor got involved with the charity after his adopted dog, Meatloaf, who suffered a brain disorder, passed away.
"He was so appreciative of us and giving him a home," Duhamel told Us — and now he tells everyone to adopt. "Not because it's the right thing to do, but because they truly make the best pets."
Will Duhamel and Fergie, 37, adopt again?
"We're going to focus on a human first," Duhamel said. "We're going to focus on raising a human and then maybe we'll get a dog after that."
Although they're mourning Meatloaf, the couple, who married in January 2009, have another adorable pooch, Zoe. "We know how Zoe is and she's really good around kids," Duhamel said of the soon-to-be seven-year-old pet.
The Black Eyed Peas singer also recently spoke out about starting a family with Duhamel, but said they were going to wait a little bit.
"It's not happening yet, I can tell you that definitely," Fergie told MTV News in March. "But we want to have a family, so that's in the cards, but it's just not this second."
