Oh, boys!

Kate Hudson described the challenges of parenting and raising her two sons on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, February 17.

Hudson, 36, is mom to Ryder, 12, with ex-husband Chris Robinson and Bingham, 4, with ex-fiancé Matthew Bellamy.

“Let’s start with the fact that I, literally five seconds ago, was on FaceTime with [Ryder’s] teacher going, like, ‘He did what? He did?’” the single mom said. “He’s a great kid. I love him so much. They’re your kids and you love them, and then you can’t stand them sometimes — it’s just the truth!”

The Kung Fu Panda 3 actress recounted a bizarre story that started with her reading Grimms’ Fairy Tales to the kids in her bedroom — and ended with both boys throwing up!

Hudson recalled that Ryder and Bingham began jumping on the bed. Although she raised her voice to get the rowdy situation under control, the roughhousing wouldn’t stop. “And the next thing you know, Bing is not sick, he’s not ill, and he just throws up,” Hudson said. “And I love my bed…I had just cleaned my sheets and it’s, like, cozy. He threw up everywhere, and he thought it was hilarious.”

As for how Ryder reacted to the bedtime incident: “He threw up because it was so gross!”

Even the always-glamorous Kate Hudson has to deal with some pretty yucky stuff! “Those are the moments that test you as a parent,” she said.
