Kim Kardashian knows firsthand that it takes a village to raise her four children.

A Saturday, October 3, profile with U.K.’s The Times revealed that Kardashian, 45, has “one nanny on duty, four on rotation.” Kardashian has primary custody of her and ex-husband Kanye West’s four kids: daughters North, 13, and Chicago, 8, and sons Saint, 10, and Psalm, 7.

Kardashian makes an effort to take her children to school every day and retrieve them, while also having dinner with them every night.

“I think I am an intermediate-strict parent,” she told the outlet. “I’m extremely patient and loving. I still have a kid sleep in my bed when they want. I read books with the kids every night.”

Kardashian also reflected on exposing her children to fame on the heels of North releasing a debut EP titled N0rth4evr earlier this year.

“I do worry about it,” she admitted to the outlet. “Each kid does what they’re comfortable with. So, my little ones come around when I’m filming but they don’t really do storylines. North loves it a little bit more than the rest. I hold her back. All she wants to do is forward-facing projects. And so it’s like us really kind of trying to savor those moments and not doing everything that comes her way, so we can really make sure that we manage it the right way.”

She continued, “And with her, since it’s more music-related, that is something that her dad and I have better communication about. We make sure that we’re aligned and that she’s in projects that we both approve.”

Kardashian and West, who divorced in 2021 after seven years of marriage, have bonded over their eldest daughter’s love for music. When sister Khloé Kardashian recently noted that the exes are “now in a much better place because of that,” Kim agreed.

“Yeah, I’m a really empathetic person. I mean, at the end of the day, we’re always family,” Kim said during a January episode of the “Khloé in Wonderland” podcast. “I always look at it that way, no matter what’s going on. There are times when I have to be super protective and there are times when, at any moment, I would love that relationship. I’ve always said that.”

Despite previously claiming on a 2025 episode of the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that she hadn’t heard from West in months, Kim reflected on the dynamic changing thanks to North’s budding career.

“The music side and the producing isn’t my thing, and that’s her bonding thing with her dad,” Kim said at the time. “Even just coming up with stuff, we have to communicate about how North moves through that world and all these opportunities that come her way and having to filter that and respecting his opinion on the things that go on with his kids is really important.”

She continued, “I think it’s important for the kids. You just, kind of, have to put all the other stuff to the side.”
