The kids come first! Kim Kardashian revealed that her two kids are the reason why her surrogate, who is pregnant with the reality star and husband Kanye West‘s third child, didn’t attend the lavish baby shower Kardashian threw. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star took over The Real as a host for a day on Thursday, November 16, and shared that she made the decision to not have the surrogate present for the sake of daughter North, 4, and 23-month-old son Saint.
“I did introduce her to my family, and the reason — I introduced her to my family earlier that day,” Kardashian, 37, revealed of the meeting that occurred earlier in the day, ahead of the cherry blossom-themed shower. “I just thought, I don’t know. It was, like, a weird decision to have to make. Of course, I would have wanted her to be there and be a part of it, but I hadn’t really gone that far in explaining it to my kids yet.”
“So I have to figure that out first before they really see, and then if we’re celebrating, you know her, I just wanted to celebrate kind of, the baby,” the makeup mogul continued. “I think I have to explain it to my kids first and figure out how I’m going to explain it to them.”
The Selfish author also spoke highly of the woman who is carrying her baby, after the social media mogul struggled with two high-risk pregnancies: “I love her. I have the best relationship with my surrogate. She’s so nice. She’s the perfect person to do this for my family.”
The businesswoman suffered from placenta accreta during her first two pregnancies, and she documented her struggles as she dealt with the life-threatening condition on E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
As Us Weekly previously reported back in September, Kardashian is expecting a baby girl due in January 2018.
