Lisa Ling is pregnant and expecting her second child, a CNN rep exclusively confirms to Us Weekly.
The award-winning journalist, 42, and her husband, Paul Song, are already parents to daughter Jett. Their baby girl, now 2, was born in Santa Monica in March 2013 and weighed in at 6 pounds, 6 ounces.
Ling and Song shared exclusive photos of their newborn with Us at the time. "We weren't trying," Ling told Us after Jett's arrival. "My travel schedule is erratic, and I only saw Paul once a month, so it was a shock. We had considered adoption, but we got very lucky. We believe this is the child we were supposed to have."
The author will have plenty of time to get prepared for baby No. 2. Her popular CNN original documentary series, This Is Life With Lisa Ling, which examines ordinary people with extraordinary lives around the country, just wrapped. Season 3 kicks off next year.
"It’s incredibly difficult. I think the idea that women can have it all is an impossible notion," Ling told Today's Parent in June 2014. "Any mother who works has moments of guilt because they are not with their baby all the time. Every time I walk out of the door, it kills me — every time. I miss her. More than I ever miss anyone, more than I knew I could miss anyone. But I feel so strongly what I do, I’m so passionate about it. I hope one day that my daughter feels proud of me and my work."
