Life at home is more colorful than ever for interior decorators Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent. The couple are parents of an opinionated 3-year-old — she picks out her own outfits! — and on March 26 they welcomed their son Oskar via surrogate.
Though the pair have their hands full with two little ones, they are adamant about making time for each other. To celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary, Berkus, 46, and Brent, 33, enjoyed a romantic meal in Palm Springs. “You have to put your relationship first,” Berkus recently told Us Weekly. “To be able to sit there, have some drinks, not drive home, have a beautiful dinner and just talk and reconnect was really nice.”

Fans of TLC’s Nate & Jeremiah By Design know all about the pair’s loving marriage. “The nicest thing that anybody ever said to us was, ‘It’s so nice to watch your show where two men kiss and it’s not about having two men kiss,’” Brent told Us. “Our show is about connecting and showing people that we all look differently, we act differently, but we’re all trying and striving for the same thing.”
The dads, who partnered with Huggies to introduce a line of customizable, monogrammable diapers called Huggies Made By You, love watching Poppy interact with her baby brother.

“There was a moment when our son was born, that our daughter came into the hospital for the first time. She was super sweet and super excited to see him,” Brent told Us. He recalled holding Poppy and Oskar at the same time and becoming overwhelmed with emotion. “It was this tribe that we had built that was ours,” he revealed. “That was a pretty proud moment. It was a big deal.”
Nate & Jeremiah By Design airs on TLC on Saturdays at 9 p.m.
