When Real Housewives of Potomac star Monique Samuels learned she was pregnant, she was elated but understandably a little bit nervous too. The 34-year-old  had previously suffered a miscarriage and was worried she would experience another loss.

“I almost wanted to detach myself from the pregnancy because I didn’t want to feel any hurt or pain if something did happen,” Samuels told Us Weekly. But the Bravo personality felt herself begin to relax when she entered her second trimester. (According to the Mayo Clinic, 10 to 20 percent of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, but most happen in the first trimester within the first few weeks of egg fertilization.)

“I made the decision that I want to enjoy this pregnancy and whatever happens, happens,” Samuels revealed. “I had to turn on my positive thinking and say, ‘You know, I’m just gonna trust and believe in God.”

The reality star and her husband, former Washington Redskins player Christopher Samuels, are due to welcome baby No. 3 — they don’t know the sex yet — on December 3. The couple are already parents of Christopher, 5, and Milani, 3.

Though Monique announced her pregnancy via Instagram in June — and is starting to show — her two kids are still in the dark. The Not for Lazy Moms blogger learned her lesson when she was pregnant with Milani. Every day, Christopher would demand to know where his baby was. “So . . . I am going to try and wait as long as I can before I tell them, this way they won’t have so much time to wait,” told Us. “If they come to me and they are like, ‘Mommy, your tummy is getting big. Is there a reason here?’ I’m gonna tell them.”

Meanwhile, a baby isn’t the only thing Monique and her retired offensive lineman love have been cooking up. Their iHeartRadio podcast “Not for Lazy Moms” launches on August 1, and it tackles topics such as sex and parenting. One episode focuses on social media and relationships, in particular.

“It’s something that affected our relationship,” Monique told Us. “But we wanted to put it out there because we felt like there may be other people dealing with the same thing. We were able to work through it and this is life.”

Monique promises she and Chris will keep it real and no topics are off limits. “I just feel like whatever I am going through, even if it’s something that may embarrass me, it if helps someone else so that they can avoid the same thing,” she said, “I’m totally willing.”
