He’s an uncle — again! Prince Harry is just as happy as Kate Middleton and Prince William to be welcoming another royal into the family. He gave a remark about the new princess, Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, on Sunday, May 3.
“She is absolutely beautiful,” he said, via a Kensington Palace statement. “I can’t wait to meet her.”
The redheaded royal, 30, is in Australia at the moment for a month-long secondment. On the day of his niece’s birth, he attended a football match at Perth’s Domain Stadium. Despite his absence, Prince William made sure to call him shortly after his little girl arrived.
“Harry was worried he would be asleep when the news broke, so he was really happy that he was up to take the call from William,” a source tells Us Weekly. Prince William dialed him at Lindo Wing during the two and a half hours he privately spent with Middleton before debuting his newborn to the world.
As previously reported, the royal couple invited their families to meet their daughter for the very first time on Sunday. Since welcoming her on Saturday, the pair have been over the moon about the well wishes they’ve received.

“The Duke and Duchess are hugely grateful for the messages of congratulations they have received from people all over the world,” a Kensington Palace spokesman tells Us. “It means a great deal to them that so many people have celebrated the arrival of their new daughter.”
