Cue the blue! Pregnant Shahs of Sunset star Mercedes “MJ” Javid is expecting a baby boy with husband Tommy Feight.
The 45-year-old reality star shared the gender reveal while chatting with E! News on Monday, October 8.
The Bravo personality told the outlet that she’s “really happy to open a new chapter” following the death of her dad in May. “I’m hoping that my baby will remind me of my father and, of course, have a piece of Tommy and me,” Javid gushed. “It’s the cycle of life.”
The news comes just four days after Us Weekly exclusively confirmed that the couple were expecting their first child together. Javid previously opened up to Us about her decision to freeze her eggs ahead of her April wedding to the Feight, 46.
“I really want all women who are single and 35 years old to run to their fertility doctors and get it done,” Javid explained to Us at the time. “I just think it’s really awful to wait and put it off until you’re over 40 because you’re just increasing your odds and you’re just making it harder for yourself and don’t worry about the costs and don’t worry about … it is a lot of hormones that can make us feel crazy.”
The mom-to-be also told Us at the time that the newlyweds had “almost completed the [IVF] progress.”
She continued: “The truth is that I have a lot of ups and downs, moment to moment, especially on the hormones from IVF stuff. You retain a lot of water. You feel really great one moment and then terrible another moment. That’s the reason why I share because, in my Instagram Stories for instance, I’ll say, ‘I don’t feel good today, but I want everyone else to know not to beat themselves up, to be kind to yourself and know that those days happen to everyone.’”
