Shakira took to Instagram Tuesday, November 15, to let fans know that she has been taking care of her sick son Sasha, 21 months, after canceling two major appearances due to “personal matters.”
“Thanks for all the messages you sent for Sasha while he was sick,” the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, 39, captioned a sweet snap of herself snuggled up against her little guy.
While the Colombian-born singer did not reveal what Sasha was suffering from, she assured her 26.5 million followers that he is feeling much better. “Everything is under control now,” she added, “and he’s back to his cheerful self!”

Later that day, Shakira posted another pic of Sasha, this time with his older brother, Milan, 3. “Mis niñitos!” the international icon — who shares her boys with longtime love, soccer superstar Gerard Pique — wrote alongside the adorable photo of the kids playing outside.
Earlier this month on November 7, the former Voice coach told fans that she would have to bow out of scheduled performances for Thursday’s Latin Grammys and Sunday’s American Music Awards.
“Due to personal matters, I won’t be able to travel to Las Vegas and LA to attend the @LatinGRAMMYs or the @AMAs this year,” she tweeted.
“La Bicicleta,” Shakira’s massively successful collaboration with fellow Colombian recording artist Carlos Vives, is nominated for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the Latin Grammys.
Though she is unable to celebrate their potential victories stateside, the Spain-based beauty is sending her love and well wishes to Vives, 55. “I will be accompanying @carlosvives in spirit @LatinGRAMMYs celebrating this incredible year that we’ve shared together with #LaBicicleta,” she wrote.
