What are friends for? Shenae Grimes-Beech has turned to a familiar face for advice during her pregnancy.
Us Weekly caught up with the 90210 star at a FabFitFun event in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 10. When asked who she directs all her mom-to-be queries to, the 28-year-old responded, “Matt Lanter’s wife [Angela]. I bumped into her not that long ago, and they just had a little girl. I’m like, ‘I’m having one too!’ And so I’m really tapping into her a lot.” She also consults her mom and other close friends who have kids.

Grimes-Beech starred on 90210 as Annie Wilson with Lanter, who portrayed her love interest Liam Court. The CW series ran for five seasons before wrapping in 2013.
Her husband, Josh Beech, does his part by taking care of the expectant mother. “He’s just so doting, like to the point where I’m like, ‘Just assume I’m OK unless I say otherwise. I will let you know if I need something,’” Grimes-Beech told Us. “He’s like that with me any day anyway. He’s the best, but yeah, especially now, he just wants this to be as enjoyable of an experience as possible for me and wants me to be as comfortable as I can possibly be and really happy and enjoying our last time together.”
Speaking of soaking up couple time, the Degrassi alum — who announced her pregnancy on May 3 — and the singer are already planning a getaway to take before their daughter arrives. “We’re right now in the process of kind of booking that pre-babymoon trip so figuring out where we’re going to do that,” she said. “I’m like, ‘I want to go somewhere rugged and crazy!’ And he’s like, ‘Well you say that, but you know, maybe we should just be taking it easy.’ So I’m trying to find a destination that has a little bit of adventure but still some relaxation involved.”
Grimes-Beech admitted that she’s just now coming to terms with her changing body. “At first, especially with people not knowing, I was like, ‘God. I just feel fat. Nobody knows that I’m pregnant. I just look like I had a lot of In-N-Out or something,’” she joked. “But now, my husband is super attracted to me. It’s like, I think the pheromone thing is working. I’m like, ‘OK!’ So he makes me feel gorgeous all the time, and now, yeah, I’m kind of embracing it. Now that I have more of a bump, I think it’s making me feel a little bit more empowered, which always makes you feel sexy. And I’m like, ‘Oh, my God. Holy s–t. I’m growing a human. This is a pretty magical, miraculous thing.’”
The pair decided on a name but don’t want to reveal it until they meet their little girl: “I think we’re settled on one, but I was actually just saying, I don’t want to say it out loud because I feel like you could meet them and then all of a sudden like, ‘Woah! No! That’s not your name! That does not work!’”
Grimes-Beech isn’t overthinking motherhood yet either. “I want [parenting] to enrich my life, and I basically just want to put everything I can into raising an amazing member of society, you know?” she said. “And the rest … I’m like, ‘Whatever! We’ll figure it out. One step at a time.’”
The parents-to-be, who both have siblings, don’t know if there are more children in their future. “I think we’ll kind of play it out, play it by ear and see what happens,” Grimes-Beech told Us. “I’m also definitely into the idea of adoption, so you never know what the future holds.”
