This App Will Change the Way You Shop for Kids’ Shoes

Any parent who’s had to chase a barefoot, crying toddler around a shoe store knows that finding kicks that fit is no easy feat. But a sizing app launched by online shoe store KidsShoes.com is making it a snap to put your child’s best foot forward.

“Shoe shopping for kids can be miserable, and shopping for my son was BAD!” KidsShoes.com creative director Sarah Caplan tells Us Weekly. “It’s difficult to find the time to take our kids to the store where the measuring system doesn’t really make sense. … every brand designs their shoes differently. And traditional online shoe shopping for kids is not much better because you’re guessing.”

Enter KidsShoes.com. Simply download the KidsShoes.Com app on your iPhone or iPad and it will guide you in positioning your child’s foot for an accurate measurement using its own unique sizing system. For iPhones, the process is as easy as snapping a photo. For iPads, your child places their foot — gently — on the screen. “Every parent’s mouth drops when they learn about the concept and they see their kid’s foot get measured on the iPad,” Caplan tells Us. “The site curates the styles and shoes to fit your kid!”

Indeed, KidsShoes.com then rounds up the correct size in each brand. “The days of ordering 10 pairs and keeping one are over,” says Caplan, whose site carries an array of labels including Stuart Weitzman, Michael Kors, Sam Edelman, Kenneth Cole and Tommy Hilfiger. Her ultimate goal? “One less headache for parents!”
